Gamers!! You have about 32 HOURS September 1 begins in Eastern Time, the date Nintendo says the Switch 2 price increase starts.
The standard system’s MSRP will rise from $449.99 to $499.99, a $50 increase. A 9to5Toys reminder published August 30 puts the remaining window at under 48 hours.

Switch 2 Price Increase Starts September 1

Nintendo’s official announcement names September 1, 2026 as the effective date and says the change is tied to “various changes in market conditions.” Nintendo does not give a specific clock time for the new MSRP in the announcement.

August 31 is the final full calendar day before Nintendo’s stated start date. Gamers who already planned to buy a Switch 2 at the current MSRP have very little time left before $499.99 becomes Nintendo’s official U.S. MSRP.
