Walmart Cancels Some Zelda Switch 2 Pre-Orders
Walmart has canceled some Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 pre-orders a day before they were due to arrive, Nintendo Life reports.
The Zelda-themed console launched on October 29. Buyers who lost their orders now have to find another way to get one.
What Buyers Are Seeing
- Some buyers got a message from Walmart saying the pre-order was canceled because the item is out of stock.
- Buyers will not be charged. The notice came only a day before the expected arrival date, so those buyers will not get a console from that order.
- Some customers say service reps told them Walmart “oversold” pre-orders.
Nintendo Life’s report relies on messages and replies that customers shared. It does not cite an official Walmart statement.
Higher-Priced Listings Are Showing Up
Walmart’s site still shows the console as out of stock, but new listings now appear at higher prices. Kotaku notes that a third-party seller using Walmart may set those prices. Check who sells the item before you pay.
Restocks Are on the Way
Nintendo has said several times that restocks of the Zelda-themed Switch 2 are coming. Vooks reports that the official Nintendo Store in Australia received more stock this week.
