The yearly cost is the biggest change from the original 2022 announcement. Sony raised its 12-month prices to the amounts above in September 2023. Prices can vary by region, sales, or renewal offers, so check the amount shown on your account before buying.

📚 What Extra Adds
Extra includes every Essential benefit, plus the Game Catalog and Ubisoft+ Classics. The catalog offers hundreds of downloadable PS4 and PS5 games across action, RPGs, racing, shooters, and indie games.
Sony says PS4 games will only be added from time to time starting in January 2026. The catalog is expected to focus more on PS5 games over time.
🕹️ What Premium Adds
Premium includes everything in Extra, along with the Classics Catalog, game trials, cloud streaming, and the Sony Pictures Catalog.
Cloud streaming lets you play supported games without downloading them first. Sony says Premium supports streaming for select PS5 games on PS5 and PlayStation Portal.
🔁 What Happened to PlayStation Now?
Sony folded PlayStation Now into the updated PlayStation Plus service when the tiers launched in 2022. It is no longer available separately.
PlayStation Now subscribers moved to Premium without a price increase at that time. The move explains Premium’s cloud streaming and games from older PlayStation generations.
FAQ
Do free-to-play games need PlayStation Plus?
Not always. Fortnite, Apex Legends, and other free-to-play titles may not require it for online play. Essential can still provide discounts and bonus content packs for some games.
