Leaked Steam Frame unboxing and setup videos give the clearest look yet at what Valve’s new VR headset will include at launch. The clips show the headset, two controllers, a glasses spacer, a wireless adapter, a USB-C cable, and setup instructions.

The leak may point to the Steam Frame release date getting closer, but it does not confirm a specific day. Valve still has not announced an exact launch date or final price. The company has officially said the headset is shipping this summer.

Steam Frame setup videos show what comes in the box

According to Notebookcheck, the videos appeared through Valve’s Arm-based client before being removed. Several clips were preserved online.

The main unboxing video shows gamers plugging the headset into power, turning it on, activating the controllers, and then continuing setup after disconnecting the USB-C cable.

Other clips cover headset fit and an optional ergonomic accessories kit. They also show how the included wireless adapter can be used to stream VR games from a Steam Machine or PC.

Valve still has not confirmed the exact Steam Frame release date

The finished setup videos are a sign that launch preparation is well underway, but they are not proof of a specific release date. Notebookcheck notes that a Steam Controller unboxing entry appeared in Valve’s backend about two weeks before that device launched, though the same timing may not apply to Steam Frame.

Valve’s official Steam Frame page describes the headset as a wireless, streaming-first VR system that can also run Steam games on its own. Valve has also expanded its Verified program to cover Steam Frame software ahead of shipping.

For now, the confirmed window is still summer 2026. The leaked videos make a near-term launch look more plausible, but any exact date or price remains unconfirmed until Valve announces it.
