Well, Bitmo Lab is back with the GameBaby Clear Limited, a transparent version with additional buttons, updated materials, and a limited run of just 500 units. for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it launches June 30 for $39.90.
🕹️ GameBaby Adds a Full ABXY Layout
The biggest upgrade is the four-button ABXY setup.
The physical buttons still work by touching the iPhone screen through capacitive contact. So there’s no Bluetooth pairing, battery, charging cable, or extra app needed for the case itself. The lower section flips from the back of the phone to the front when it is time to play.
Older versions of the case focused more on Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and NES-style games. The new layout should make it a better match for games that need more buttons, including SNES and Nintendo DS emulation.
The appeal is simple here.
Gamers can keep their iPhone in a normal-looking case, then turn it sideways and use physical controls without carrying a separate controller.
It will still depend on the emulator layout matching the button positions on the screen. The case does not magically add console controls to every mobile game.

The Clear Limited model has a frosted transparent shell, metal keycaps, a silver-looking D-pad, and orange face buttons. It leans hard into the clear handheld look that made old Game Boys, controllers, and electronics feel special.

Still, the limited release means it is not the best option for every gamer. The Clear Limited version is only confirmed for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, so iPhone 15, 16, and smaller 17 models are left out for now.
