Bandai Namco Revives Akihabara’s Iconic Arcade Scene
Bandai Namco is set to take over an iconic Akihabara arcade once operated by SEGA.
SEGA’s large arcades were landmarks in Akihabara for years, drawing gamers from around the world. SEGA rebranded as Gigo in 2020 and later left the arcade scene, closing a major chapter for the area.
Bandai Namco’s New Akihabara Arcade
The new arcade will feature Bandai Namco games such as Tekken and Mario Kart Arcade. It will also include several shops and activities for gamers and collectors.
- A shop for card games
- A capsule toy shop
- A section for claw machines
Bandai Namco says the arcade is scheduled to open on March 1. The location will be the company’s first arcade in Akihabara, despite its long history in the gaming industry.
Fans of trading card games, capsule toys, and claw machines will have new reasons to visit Akihabara. Bandai Namco’s arrival starts a new chapter for one of gaming’s best-known neighborhoods.
