Valve has updated the Steam Client Beta for November 2025 to add Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller support on Windows. The update allows the new controller to connect over USB for PC gaming, expanding Steam’s list of compatible Nintendo controllers.

Steam already supports the original Switch Pro Controller, Joy-Con, and Switch Online classic controllers. Nintendo recently released firmware updates for its controllers on the Switch 2, which improve functionality with the new system.

This change gives PC gamers more options for using console gamepads and makes it easier to bring familiar controllers into their gaming setups.
