Steam Client Update Adds Stability and Controller Fixes

Valve’s July 22 Steam Client update enhances content delivery and remote play performance while adding status and Workshop updates.
Valve has released a new Steam Client update to the Stable channel, with a re-release on July 22 including an additional fix for content delivery performance.
Downloads
- Fixed a bug that negatively affected the efficiency of the Steam content delivery system.
General
- Improved notification settings layout in select languages.
- Restored the full set of options in the “Maximum Game Resolution” dropdown, now under the “More Options” sub-menu.
- Fixed an issue where the “Patch Notes” preview in Settings → System could display notes for the wrong channel.
- Resolved a crash that occurred when manually starting a game recording.
- Fixed the mouse cursor changing to a resize cursor at screen edges.
- Prevented the controller pairing screen from appearing during controller firmware updates.
Desktop Mode
- Fixed incorrect UI scaling when using Big Picture Mode.
Steam Machine
- Steam Machine Verified status now appears on game capsules and game details screens.
- Added a “Great on Machine” section to the Library.
Steam Workshop
- Reworked the system that manages updates to subscribed items.
Remote Play
- Added 59.94 FPS as a selectable framerate limit.
- Reduced frame drops when framerate is set to automatic.
- Fixed offline devices appearing as streamable.
- Resolved client video decoder overload when unlimited bandwidth is enabled.
- Corrected mouse coordinates during input-only streaming.
- Fixed very low refresh rates on some systems introduced by the last beta.
Steam Input
- Steam Controller: Lowered Gyro Calibration Threshold to make unintentional triggering less likely.
- Steam Controller: Gyro Calibration Threshold can now be adjusted in Steam → Settings → Controller → Details → Calibration & Advanced → Gyro Calibration.
- Steam Controller: Added an option to disable hardware calibration and rely on software calibration.
- Steam Controller: Fixed gyro stutter caused by ignoring IMU timestamps.
- Added support for both wired and wireless PDP Afterglow Wave Controllers for Nintendo Switch.
- Added support for Turtle Beach controllers for Nintendo Switch 2.
Steam Controller Firmware
- Fixed repeated trackpad samples that affected trackball momentum.
- Resolved unintentional host device wake-ups during controller shutdown.
- Fixed occasional repeated B Button presses.
