EVERSPACE 2 received its final planned technical update on September 1, 2026, and the game is now Steam Deck Verified. ROCKFISH Games also brought the update to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, with performance work, bug fixes, and small improvements across the supported versions. For Steam Deck owners, the Verified badge is the biggest change because Valve now marks the game as meeting its checks for play on the handheld.

Steam Deck support gets the official badge

ROCKFISH Games says the September update is the final planned technical update for EVERSPACE 2. Steam Deck verification means the game has moved beyond simply being playable on the handheld and now carries Valve’s Verified status.

The update also reaches Xbox and PlayStation. ROCKFISH says the release includes performance improvements, community-requested bug fixes, and smaller features, so the work is not limited to Valve’s handheld.

The update closes a long chapter for EVERSPACE 2

The technical update caps the studio’s planned work on the game after years of development. EVERSPACE 2 first reached its full PC release on April 6, 2023, after entering Steam Early Access in January 2021.

The game remains a single-player space shooter with RPG systems, loot, mining, crafting, and a handcrafted open world. Steam says the PC version requires 35 GB of storage, while the recommended setup calls for 16 GB of memory and an SSD.

Steam Deck owners have an easier answer now

Gamers deciding whether to play EVERSPACE 2 on Steam Deck now have a simple compatibility signal from Valve. The Verified badge does not promise that every player will choose the same graphics or performance settings, but it removes some of the guesswork around basic handheld support.

PC players can also download an EVERSPACE 2 demo through Steam before buying the full game.
