Spotify is expected to raise US subscription prices in the first quarter of 2026. Reports say the streaming service could increase its monthly fees by about $1 for its individual plan, similar to past price adjustments. The company last changed its rates in June 2024, raising the individual plan to $11.99 per month and the Family plan to $19.99 per month.

Music industry pressure and the push for higher profits appear to be driving the price change. Major record labels have urged Spotify and other platforms to charge more, arguing that music streaming costs less than most video services like Netflix.

Spotify has also added new features, including lossless audio, which may make the higher rates more acceptable. US subscribers should watch for an official announcement early next year.
