A new product code labeled OSM appeared on the Nintendo Account Portal. The code was first shared by Bluesky user dootsky. Requesting the OSM code reportedly returns an image of the Switch 2, while other codes return an error. Fans on ResetEra have started discussing the discovery.

Nintendo’s known product codes for Switch models include HAE, HAD, HDH, and HEG. The Switch 2 currently uses BEE as its product code. OSM does not match these patterns. Dootsky explained that this is not conclusive evidence of a new model.

I think I've discovered something interesting, but I have no idea what it implies:On Nintendo's Account Portal, there's an unused model code under the name "OSM". (The Switch 2's model code is BEE.)The portal has images for each Switch model, and requesting OSM returns an image of a Switch 2.

The timing raises questions because January 16 marks one year since the Switch 2 reveal. A new model so soon seems unlikely.

Nintendo does not usually create product codes without purpose, leaving the meaning of OSM unclear. The source post is on bsky.app, where fans are sharing their own guesses about what it could be.
