Bandai Namco Revives Akihabara’s Iconic Arcade Scene

Bandai Namco is set to take over the iconic Akihabara arcade, once operated by SEGA, after SEGA's rebranding to Gigo in 2020 and its eventual exit from the arcade scene. For years, SEGA's massive arcades were a landmark in Akihabara, drawing gamers from all over the world. While it's sad to see SEGA's chapter in Akihabara close, Bandai Namco's arrival promises a fresh and exciting gaming experience.

The new arcade will feature popular Bandai Namco games like Tekken and Mario Kart Arcade, along with various shops. Visitors can look forward to a store dedicated to card games, another for capsule toys, and a section just for claw machines. This mix of attractions is sure to cater to gamers and collectors of all ages, making it a must-visit spot in Akihabara.

Scheduled to open on March 1st, this will be Bandai Namco's first arcade in Akihabara. Despite being a major player in the gaming industry for years, they've just now had a presence in this neighborhood. With SEGA's legacy in the past, it'll be exciting to see how Bandai Namco's new arcade stands out in the crowded Akihabara scene.

Whether you're a fan of trading card games or capsule toys or love a good claw machine, Bandai Namco's new arcade will have something for you. Are you ready to explore this new chapter in Akihabara's gaming world?
