Apple has a new app just for gamers, it’s called the Games app. Right now, it’s in beta, but it’s launching for everyone this fall.

Here’s what it does, why it matters, and how it helps you find and play your favorite games.

What Is the Games App?

It’s a place where all your games live together. You can see what you’re playing, what your friends are into, and find new games picked just for you. It works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with the latest updates (iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26).

Why It’s Cool

  • Games picked for you
  • See what your friends are playing
  • Easy way to keep track of scores and wins
  • Jump back into games you forgot about
  • Get updates on events happening inside your games

What You’ll Find in the App

  • Home – Get highlights, new game suggestions, updates, charts, and a quick way back into games you’ve played recently.
  • Play Together – Find games your friends are playing. You can invite them to matches, see scores, and start challenges together.
  • Arcade – If you have Apple Arcade, this tab gives you quick access to the full game list, latest releases, and your Arcade titles.
  • Library – See every game you’ve downloaded on your device. You can redownload old favorites and pick up right where you left off.
  • Search – Look up any game, check out collections, and browse what’s trending.

Each Game Has Its Own Page

Every game you own or find has its own spot in the app. You can:

  • Tap to play (if it’s installed)
  • Invite friends
  • See events, scores, and achievements

Game Center Makes It Even Better

Game Center features are built right in:

  • Leaderboards: Compete with friends
  • Achievements: Unlock rewards
  • Challenges: Beat your friend’s score
  • Multiplayer: Invite friends to join your game

If your game supports these features, you’ll probably see it featured more in the app.

The Games app is all about making it easier and more fun to stay connected with games and friends.

What game are you most excited to see in the Games app?
